Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry staff, and public area cleaners.
  • Assign tasks and inspect work to ensure that the standards of cleanliness are consistently met.
  • Ensure that all areas of the hotel are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Train new employees in housekeeping procedures, use of equipment, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions to improve the skills and efficiency of the housekeeping team.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Address any issues or complaints from guests promptly and effectively.
  • Implement and uphold quality assurance standards for housekeeping operations.
  • Manage housekeeping inventory, including linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Order and replenish supplies as needed, maintaining appropriate stock levels.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Prepare work schedules for housekeeping staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times and special events.
  • Plan and coordinate deep cleaning projects, seasonal tasks, and special cleaning assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and drills.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, including inventory logs, maintenance reports, and staff attendance.
  • Prepare reports on housekeeping performance, guest feedback, and departmental expenses.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and front office, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services in a timely and professional manner.
  • Strive to exceed guest expectations by providing exceptional service and attention to detail.
  • Gather and analyze guest feedback to improve housekeeping operations.
