About the job Technical Operations Manager
The Role
You will be the technical owner of our end-to-end IT operations and underlying stack covering networks, identity, endpoint management, cloud/on-prem infrastructure, security operations, availability, monitoring, backup/DR, and service reliability. You'll lead the team and partners to run a stable, secure environment today while modernising and scaling the platform for tomorrow.
This is a career-defining opportunity for someone with deep technical roots, strong operational judgement, a pragmatic commercial mindset, and the ability to lead a high-performing team through change while staying close enough to the technology to make the right calls and unblock delivery.
What you'll do:
- Own production operations: availability, incident response, root-cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement target-state architecture for infrastructure/ops (not just manage a roadmap).
- Build operational maturity: monitoring/alerting, patching, hardening, backups, DR testing, capacity planning, asset lifecycle.
- Be the escalation point for complex issues: you can read logs, trace dependencies, and drive fixes end-to-end.
- Lead vendors without outsourcing technical accountability.
As Our Technical Operations Manager, You Will Have:
- 10-15 years in infrastructure / systems / network / cloud operations with meaningful hands-on responsibility. 5 of these years in leadership / senior roles.
- Proven ownership of a full stack environment (identity + network + endpoints + cloud/on-prem + security + monitoring).
- Evidence you've designed and delivered upgrades/migrations (not merely coordinated them).
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating teams through change.
- A strategic and commercial mindset with the ability to align technology decisions to business outcomes.
- Experience in customer-focused roles and vendor management.
Technical Proficiency
- Microsoft stack (Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, M365, Windows)
- End-to-end Azure platform ownership
- SD-WAN Preferred (Fortinet)
- Security ops (EDR/SIEM, vuln/patch, hardening, incident handling)
Your Day Will Consist Of:
- Leading the technical evolution of our core infrastructure and modernising tools and practices.
- Staying hands-on with critical systems and troubleshooting when required, ensuring operational stability.
- Driving technology adoption and change delivery while coaching and developing a high-performing team.
- Partnering with vendors and stakeholders to deliver value-led improvements with urgency.
- Ensuring business users experience technology that is fast, simple, and dependable.
- Data analysis, business operations, and cost control, including budget creation and management.
