We've created a game-changing wearable device which adds resistance, powerful haptics and motion tracking to the players actions with no virtual reality.

Our first title, Shardfall, has you fighting, running, leaping and dodging your way through an unforgettable fantasy world. Our goal was to make a title so engaging that players won't even realise how much exercise they're doing

The market is massive; our pre-launch marketing has already generated $1.5m in preorder revenue. Weve secured over $15m in funding from top-tier VCs and angels, including Khosla Ventures and the founders of Twitch.

YOUR MISSION.

As Design Director, you will be one of the leaders of Shardfall, our inaugural title, supporting it through initial release and live operations. Over time, the role will broaden as we release new titles for our game-changing wearable device

You'll grow and lead a team of exceptional designers and ensure the player's voice is championed across every product we build

While this is a Hybrid role, everyone is in the office on Mondays and Fridays

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Launch our first game, Shardfall, and continue to improve it throughout its LiveOps lifespan
  • Design and create all future games in Quell's portfolio to attract new customers and push the envelope of the fitness gaming sector
  • Analyse customer telemetry and feedback to make data-driven decisions on where to focus the Design team's efforts
  • Work directly with the CEO, Production Director and VP Marketing on strategy and long-term business planning
  • Lead and continue to grow the Game Design team (currently three people)
  • Work with the device team to develop new forms of immersive, high-quality fitness gaming experiences

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR.

  • An industry leader who has shipped multiple games in Unity
  • Confident in leading the design of premium games from start to finish
  • Strong LiveOps and social/multiplayer experience
  • Experience across the components of ARPG design
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Experience leading and building a team

EXTRA CREDIT.

  • Experience designing for products with a fitness component
  • Experience with non-traditional player input devices
  • Subscription experience
