Almedia operates the website FreeCash.com, which is a 'Get Paid To' website that offers 11 million users the ability to get paid for trying new games and products.
The company is already profitable and has offices located in Berlin and Armenia, with 40 employees
Role Overview:
As the first internal Senior UI/UX Designer at Almedia, you will be tasked with building a team from the ground up. You will not only engage in hiring and onboarding but also play a pivotal role in coaching and training new team members. The role will evolve into a managerial position, providing a pathway to becoming a leader within the organization or a highly specialized staff designer, depending on your career aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of innovative and user-centric mobile and desktop solutions, with an emphasis on mobile platforms.
- Conduct UI/UX research and develop processes to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Mentor and manage a growing design team, establishing efficient workflows and a collaborative culture.
- Work closely with product managers and developers to ensure designs are feasible within technical constraints.
- Maintain and nurture a startup mentality, including the ability to work within a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic environment.
Your experience:
- Proven senior-level experience in UI/UX design, preferably within a startup environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in mobile design and B2C products.
- Ability to thrive in a startup culture and cope with disorganization while driving towards creating organized processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the capacity to build a team and culture from scratch.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid remote setting.
Reporting Line:
You will be reporting directly to the Head of Design.
The Hiring Process:
- 1-hour call with us which will include a 30-minute culture interview and a 30-minute whiteboard challenge
- Initial call with the hiring manager.
- Portfolio review by the Head of Design.
- A take-home case study focused on the mobile side of the UX/UI design.
- Technical calls including a whiteboarding challenge to assess UI skills.
- Final discussion with the CEO before joining.
