Overview:

We are looking for a creative and skilled UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic product team. This role will involve collaborating closely with various teams to design and improve user interfaces and experiences across our digital products. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design and usability, a commitment to creating intuitive user experiences, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the product team to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience.
  • From the first wireframes to prototypes to the MVP and far beyond, you will accompany all steps from planning and conception to the actual design to agile development and implementation of the platform in our existing, complex software landscape.
  • Design intelligent navigation concepts and intuitive user guidance for optimal orientation as a basis for user-centred design in tandem with the team.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Together they analyze and interpret user behavior and needs, which are recorded in user stories or classic requirements, and at the same time identify possible roadblockers.
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • You will contribute to a high-quality design system implemented via Storybook
  • You can work autonomously and will conduct exploration and concept testing without specific instructions to do so

Requirements:

  • You are experienced in both UI and UX. You are probably stronger in one of the two disciplines but you must have experience in both
  • You are more scientist than artist
  • Proficiency in Figma and other wireframing/design tools
  • You acquired your knowledge of methods and processes as part of a university degree or self-taught. The decisive factor is your convincing portfolio or work samples, which represent your several years of professional experience.
  • Your creative, out-of-the-box thinking that is evidence-based and holistic, your hands-on solution orientation that doesn't let hurdles unsettle you, and your emphatic mindset are what sets you apart from others.
  • You have relevant experience in agile collaboration models such as Scrum/Kanban with development teams and a clear understanding of go-to-market strategies.
  • You are characterized by excellent organizational skills, quick comprehension and extensive experience as well as skills in relevant tools and software.
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • You have a high level of command of English and enjoy working in collegial teamwork with flat hierarchies.

Application Process:

Interested candidates should submit a resume and portfolio demonstrating their experience and skills in UI/UX design. Following the initial review, selected candidates will undergo the following process:

  1. One hour interview with Berg Search which will dive deep into your values, UI/UX expertise and end in a short whiteboard exercise
  2. 45-minute interview with the hiring manager (UI/UX lead)
  3. Take home case study
  4. Talk about case study & fit interviews with other senior executives
