Job Description:

We are Beovexis and we are looking for a Business Intelligence Data Analyst with 1-3 years of experience to fill a six-month+ REMOTE contract position with one of our key clientele in Vancouver.


ABOUT THE PROJECT

As a Business Intelligence Data Analyst you will play an integral role in our client's strategic and operational capabilities by querying data repositories and generating ad-hoc reports and identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources. The successful candidate will have exceptional initiative and strong quantitative skills, along with a drive to consistently seek out additional information and ideas to support business. The Customer Solutions BI Data Analyst will work directly with senior leadership in terms of opportunities to engage in business problem solving and provide thought leadership with inputs into strategic decision making for the Customer Solutions team. You will be expected to take charge driving insightful analytical findings with a problem-solving oriented approach and driving data to usable information for client's Customer Solutions & Analytics team.


ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Query database tables to extract business requested data
  • Create ad-hoc reports (using MS SQL, MS Excel, Power BI Reporting tools) within required timeframes; analyze and validate data to provide assurance of accuracy and validity of critical business information
  • Provide quantitative analysis, reporting, and trending for key strategic initiatives; provide data sets and metrics to add context and measure potential impact for new projects
  • Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action
  • Actively engage with internal /external teams to streamline and standardize existing reports by identifying and developing opportunities to increase efficiencies
  • Analyze, improve, and add to existing dashboards by reengineering existing MS SQL queries
  • Build reporting tools to assist business operational users to execute day-to-day responsibilities
  • Analyze data correlations / discrepancies / reconciliations and related impact to business
  • Track and document post implementation benefits and key objective measurement
  • Provide data-based solutions to complex problems and offer creative suggestions for alternative designs and methods where applicable
  • Collect business intelligence data from available industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased sources to correlate available information with outside sources
  • Maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods.
  • Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users


ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Thorough understanding & hands-on execution knowledge and comfort of relational databases
  • Previous experience working with MS SQL Server including querying, reengineering, and manipulating data is required
  • Experienced in numerical, statistical, and / or financial analysis
  • Understanding of MS SSRS for report deployment and code management
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience with MS Excels analytics tools (Macros, VBA, Pivot Tables, Charts and Graphs)
  • Working knowledge of Tableau is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Power BI Reporting tools needed
  • Prior work experience in similar role that involved heavy lifting of data, and working independently with cross-functional business units to analyze data requirements
  • Strong Inductive Reasoning skills: The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • Effective at managing multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure
  • Self-starter, results-oriented with proven previous success at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks of varying complexities in the context of operational impact and corporate goals, as well as meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proven logical and analytical problem-solving abilities. Comfort with numerical and financial analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be comfortable to interact independently with managers, supervisors and end users to dissect business issues from a data standpoint
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and tight deadlines.


Education:

  • A Bachelors degree in any one of these major fields - Business degree with a focus on Math , Statistics, Economics, Engineering or technical equivalents, along with 3+ years work experience in one of these roles is needed: Business Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), Reporting Analyst , Business Data Analyst or technical equivalent
  • Alternately, a Masters degree in any one of these major fields - Business degree with a focus on Math & Statistics, Economics, Engineering or technical equivalents, along with a minimum 2+ years work experience in one of these roles is needed: Business Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI) , Reporting Analyst , Business Data Analysts or technical equivalent


ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a six (6) month REMOTE contract position with strong opportunity to extend, or turn into fulltime work based on performance. Open to residents of Canada and USA who are able to work Central time zone. (Must be able to work 8:30AM CST through 5:30 PM CST or you can choose 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST window.)
