About the job EPC Senior Mechanical Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer will support mechanical engineering activities across EPC projects, from early development through commissioning and handover. This role focuses on delivering high-quality technical work across rotating or static equipment, piping systems, and mechanical design deliverables, while contributing to the successful execution of assigned projects.
This is an opportunity to apply strong technical expertise, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to engineering excellence within a growing and dynamic project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute mechanical engineering activities across EPC phases: development, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Provide technical input for either rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines/expanders) or static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, tanks), collaborating with other disciplines to ensure full mechanical scope coverage.
- Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, and RFQ packages.
- Interpret client standards and industry codes relevant to assigned scope.
- Support technical bid evaluations and assist with vendor selection.
- Interface with suppliers during fabrication, inspection, and delivery phases.
- Contribute to piping material specifications and construction requirements (e.g., PWHT, NDE, bolting practices, coatings).
- Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews (PFDs, P&IDs, 3D models, equipment lists).
- Support HAZOPs, PHAs, and other safety reviews.
- Provide technical support to Project Managers throughout design, procurement, construction, and startup.
- Assist with site activities, help resolve field engineering issues, and respond to RFIs.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
- Share knowledge and provide informal guidance to junior engineers as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience supporting EPC projects within petrochemical, refining, gas processing, or similar industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with ASME codes, API standards, and applicable industry regulations.
- Experience with either rotating equipment or static equipment design, specification, and vendor coordination.
- Exposure to full EPC project execution (lump-sum / turnkey experience preferred).
- EIT certification or PE license preferred.
