I am seeking to fill the position of Senior Structural Engineering Supervisor with a major heavy industrial company. The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsibility: Project Management (15%)
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients as needed.
- Communicate scope needs to designers or other engineers.
- Obtain quotes for engineering, equipment, material, and services.
- Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings, and evaluate bids.
- Control documents generated during the project.
Responsibility: Structural Design and Analysis (65%)
- Structural Design Leader on multi-discipline projects.
- Coordinate with other disciplines as required to produce projects with the lowest total installed cost possible.
- Interact with Clients, Vendors, Contractors to obtain information pertinent to the completion of design work.
- Feed work to design team to draw and/or model.
- Provide detailed guidance and review for design work by others.
- Perform field work.
- Inspect field conditions.
- Verify existing field conditions.
- Lay out new structures and equipment for most efficient use of space and resources.
- Perform calculations and create analysis models as required.
- Work with applicable codes to ensure design compliance.
- Complete written technical reports.
Responsibility: Construction Support (15%)
- Provide construction support services during construction projects and/or mill/equipment shutdowns.
- Provide field engineering support during installation by others.
- Help contractors with lockout and permitting.
- Expedite material.
- Coordinate activities with Maintenance, Production, and contractors.
- Review installation for compliance with design documents.
Responsibility: Business Development (5%)
- Always look for ways to help our clients.
- Look for ways to develop new clients.
- When an opportunity occurs, work with the client to determine the scope.
- If scope falls into our capabilities, develop the estimate, and submit proposal.
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Registration: Professional Engineering registration preferred.
Experience: This position requires heavy industrial experience (Other experience such as structural steel/concrete will be considered, providing you have some heavy industrial experience).

- High base salary range
- Hourly rate billable time over 40 hours
- Profit share scheme up to 20% base salary
