Job Summary:

The Senior Reliability Engineer will identify and resolve mechanical issues, improving quality, capacity, and reliability. Collaborating with onsite technical teams, corporate networks, and vendors, you'll strive to improve plant reliability and performance while applying technical knowledge to analyze causes of long-term reliability issues, execute expense and capital projects and provide general assistance trouble shooting day-to-day issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain systems to enhance health, safety, environment, production rates, reliability, cost, and quality.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize operations units, executing recommendations to improve performance.
  • Balance day-to-day operational priorities with long-term strategic objectives to align with company goals.
  • Provide QA/QC requirements, optimize preventive maintenance processes, and offer technical support for capital and expense projects.
  • Support major unit turnarounds and outages.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and conduct investigations to resolve maintenance/reliability issues.
  • Optimize the balance between minimizing maintenance costs and maximizing equipment performance.
  • Coach less experienced engineers and provide technical training to maintenance and reliability personnel.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 plus years experience within the refining or petrochemical industry.
  • Knowledge of maintaining and monitoring pumps, turbines, compressors, stationary equipment and applicable codes and standards is required.
  • Must be able to effectively evaluate equipment performance and trouble-shoot equipment & process problems through the use of critical analytical skills.
  • Predictive (PdM) and preventive Maintenance (PM) concepts.
  • Basic understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI)
  • Ability to apply computer software tools (SAP and Meridium are a plus).
  • Experience with rotating and stationary equipment.
