The Tax Principal works with teams to generate creative solutions to key business challenges.
Responsibilities
- Review business transactions and ensure compliance with state federal and international tax law.
- Monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies.
- Prepare and review company federal tax returns and the accuracy of filing of all tax forms, partnering with external tax experts.
- Ensure to accurately and timely file federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
- Develop effective control procedures on all tax-related transactions.
- Review importation and exportation to maintain duty draw back process and apply for drawback accordingly.
- Manage tax audits and prepare responses, coordinate auditing process.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and make sure all business arrangements are in line with laws.
- Work with external tax experts to develop tax compliance process.
- Analyze tax liability of export to Canada/Mexico and other countries with the support of tax consulting firm.
- Other tax duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelors degree in tax, accounting, finance, or related fields; Preferred candidates who has CPA license.
- 3+ years of experience in a custom brokerage or tax consulting firm or over 5+ years of experience in a notable large company.
- Experience with SAP system is preferred.
