Job Title: Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer with extensive experience in electrical systems,
including overhead distribution, switchgear testing, and breaker maintenance. This role requires hands-on
expertise in managing electrical reliability/maintenance programs, troubleshooting complex systems, and
ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
electrical maintenance, distribution network management, and a proven ability to lead critical reliability
projects while optimizing system performance and safety.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise in medium/high-voltage electrical reliability and overhead distribution
networks to ensure all performance KPIs are met.
Improve reliability of electrical distribution systems by implementing repair recommendations and
conducting inspections based on engineering standards and codes.
Troubleshoot electrical issues that impact the safety, quality, and reliability of operations,
particularly those related to overhead distribution, switchgear, and breaker systems.
Conduct testing and maintenance of high-voltage switches, breakers, and transformers, ensuring
compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance and productivity improvement strategies, focusing
on overhead distribution and breaker systems to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
Manage the creation of switching orders and breaker curves, utilizing tools such as SKM to ensure
the integrity of the distribution network.
Liaise with OEMs, vendors, and service contractors for procurement of critical spares and
coordination of electrical reliability improvement initiatives.
Support the preparation of reports for regulatory bodies ensuring that all compliance and safety
standards are met.
Lead electrical reliability projects, including the management of critical spares inventory, capital
improvement planning, and execution of turnaround (TA) electrical jobs.
Oversee the execution of site reliability improvement programs related to electrical distribution,
breaker systems, and grid interface components.
Provide technical leadership in process safety studies, including conducting HAZOPs and PHAs with
a focus on electrical distribution.
Mentor and provide technical training to in-house electrical contractors and operations team
members in electrical safety and reliability best practices.
Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within a chemical, refining, or
manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in electrical system studies such as short-circuit calculations, relay coordination, motor
starting analysis, and breaker curve creation.
Strong experience with switch testing, breaker testing, and reporting to regulatory power bodies
(ERCOT or similar) beneficial.
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting VFD systems and developing switching orders.
Proficient in using software tools such as SKM, Protection Suite, and Omnicron for testing and
reliability improvements.
Experience in managing capital projects related to electrical reliability, including budgeting,
scheduling, and vendor management.
