Senior Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer

Ben Aris are working with a major owner operator in the oil & gas industry to find a Senior I&E Engineer. The position will be based at one of the company's top-performing refineries and will be responsible for the engineering design of instrumentation, control and electrical systems from cradle to grave. The I&E Engineer will support projects by integrating into a multi-disciplinary project team and providing project management depending on scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop capital and expense project scope related to I&E system upgrades for the refinery.
  • Responsible for insuring instrumentation, control, and electrical system design, installation, commissioning and start up are safely and efficiently.
  • Developing one-line and cable block diagrams that will accomplish the needs of a project and support the reliability of the refinery.
  • Preparing project authorization documentation including cost estimates, project justification, schedules and execution plans according to corporate safety guidelines.
  • Developing project contract strategies and preparing engineering and bid specifications.
  • Interacting with engineering and construction contractors, vendors during project implementation.
  • Providing maintenance support, technical project support and long-term preventive/predictive maintenance for the Electrical and Instrumentation Craft and equipment.
  • Participating in technical networks, assisting in development of and implementing best practices.
  • Supporting documentation of systems to maintain accurate equipment information and drawings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in electrical equipment and power system maintenance and/or electrical design (10+ years preferred).
  • Experience working in refining/chemicals/EPC in the field of electrical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of power distribution systems, equipment (SWG/MCCs), and design philosophies.
  • Working knowledge of process instrumentation and/or maintenance preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of API, IEEE, NEMA, UL, ANSI and/or other applicable standards preferred.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Legally authorized to work in US (US Citizen/Green Card holder), sponsorship is not available for this position.
