Job Title: Production Supervisor

Role Purpose

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the production and despatch operations, ensuring that products are manufactured safely, legally, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The role involves overseeing production activities, supporting the team, maintaining quality and traceability standards, and ensuring customer requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Despatch Operations

Supervise daily production and despatch activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Ensure products are manufactured according to required specifications.
Allocate tasks to production and despatch operatives and monitor work progress.
Ensure daily orders are prepared accurately and on time.
Oversee packing, boxing, labelling, and dispatch of goods.
Ensure dispatch vehicles are checked and suitable for use.
Monitor stock rotation in line with FIFO procedures.

Quality, Hygiene & Compliance

Ensure all production and despatch activities comply with company hygiene policies and procedures.
Ensure cleaning work instructions and standard operating procedures are followed.
Monitor quality checks, including use-by-date checks on raw materials, production, and dispatches.
Ensure completion of quality, production, and despatch records.
Maintain accurate batch traceability throughout the production process, including ingredients, packaging, and decanted flavourings.
Ensure customer quality specifications and requirements are consistently met.
Identify and report quality or operational issues and take appropriate corrective action.

Team Supervision

Lead, support, and motivate production and despatch operatives.
Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure procedures and work instructions are followed.
Monitor team performance and address issues promptly.
Support training and development of team members.
Promote a positive, safe, and quality-focused working environment.

Reporting & Communication

Report operational, quality, and staffing issues to management.
Work closely with Team Leads and management to ensure production targets are achieved.
Maintain effective communication between production and despatch teams.
Complete and review relevant production and quality documentation.
Carry out any other duties required to support business operations.

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a production or food manufacturing environment.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
Good understanding of food hygiene and quality standards.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to manage a team and prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
