Role Background & Opportunity

The Business Development Manager will gain a deep understanding of the companys structures and procedures by working closely with functional managers across purchasing, planning, finance, production, quality, and logistics. This role offers exposure to all these areas to develop in-depth knowledge of the business, products, and processes.

The primary responsibilities include developing and nurturing relationships with both existing and new customers, anticipating their needs, and driving sales and profitability. As a key member of the Commercial Team, the focus will be on the Foodservice and Wholesale market in GB.

This role involves significant travel across the UK and requires routine meetings at the companys offices in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with Foodservice and Wholesale customers in GB.
  • Achieve sales targets and KPIs as defined by management.
  • Develop trusting relationships with customers and ensure effective management to retain and grow business.
  • Address customer issues promptly, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Understand monthly/annual customer requirements and raise concerns internally in monthly Sales meetings.
  • Learn pricing methods and understand how new clients are onboarded and existing contracts are renewed.
  • Gather, report, and communicate customer feedback on service, product, and delivery.
  • Attend trade shows to promote the companys brands, acquire new customers, and drive sales.
  • Oversee annual contract renewals with relevant customers.
  • Participate in market research and new product development projects.
  • Conduct market analysis to enhance offerings and stay competitive.

Qualifications & SkillsEssential:

Previous experience in Business Development or Account Management in FMCG.
Willingness to travel extensively within GB and ability to work independently.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-centric approach.
Results-oriented mindset, strong numerical skills, and ability to interpret data/costs.
Excellent interpersonal skillsbuilding rapport and relationships is key.
Service-oriented, polite, friendly, and diplomatic approach.
Ability to identify new opportunities and generate ideas.
Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Skype, Zoom).
Full UK/Irish driving license.

Desirable:

Experience in the Foodservice and Wholesale channels in GB.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
