Location: Northern Ireland
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Role Overview

The Shift Manager is responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a team of operatives to deliver production targets safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production processes to ensure full compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve production issues quickly to maintain efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members, ensuring adherence to safety, hygiene, and operational procedures.
  • Take ownership of achieving daily production targets while maintaining product quality.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Despatch teams to ensure smooth operational flow.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on food safety and product quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Desirable

  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment or process issues.
