Role holder will be leading a crew of project managers as the Lead Project Manager, under the Construction Project Delivery (CPD) team of the Industrial Site Management (ISM) department.

Roles & Responsibilities

Procurement

  1. Develop procurement strategies of Assigned Projects based on the FIDIC rainbow suite / conditions of contracts and the BEDB bespoke contracts.
  2. Perform risk analysis, management and mitigation of Assigned Projects.
  3. Develop the Request for Tender (RFT), Quotation (RFQ) & Proposal (RFP) documents of Assigned Projects.
  4. Quantity take-off and cost estimation of Assigned Projects

Contract Administration

  1. Manage and deliver Assigned Projects according to the CPD Contract Administration Manual, including variations, payment certification, letter writing and document control.

Project Management

  1. Ensure Assigned Projects are successfully delivered according to the specified time, cost and scope KPIs, including quality aspects.
  2. Schedule work on a day-to-day basis to enable daily targets to be met, ensuring necessary resources are allocated to meet objectives of Assigned Projects.
  3. Resolves issues and problems, in a timely manner, by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
  4. Implementation of best-of-industry technology in the planning and monitoring of Assigned Projects.
  5. Developing, tracking and managing the critical path and baselines of Assigned Projects in Microsoft Project.

Quality Assurance & Control

  1. Procure relevant standards for Assigned Projects.
  2. Conduct regular inspection of Assigned Projects.
  3. Monitoring and appraising vendor performance of Assigned Projects.

Health, Safety & Environment

  1. Managing construction HSE aspects of Assigned Projects.

Creative Problem- Solving

  1. Solves a range of straightforward technical, commercial and contractual problems; analyse possible solutions using standard procedures and best practice.

CAPEX Planning & Expenditure

Assist Team Lead and/or Manager in the:

  1. Planning, coordination, programming and forecasting of CAPEX budgets, including coordination and liaison with internal and/or external stakeholders for any necessary information.
  2. Derivation of ROI for Assigned Projects.
  3. Prioritisation of projects, including cost-benefit analysis.
  4. Application, disbursement and monitoring of CAPEX funds.

Key Requirements

  1. Diploma / graduate of engineering or architecture preferably civil / structural engineering and/or construction management.
  2. 9-12 years of Relevant Experience, including successfully managed 1 or more construction projects up to a combined total of B$ 10 million over a 2-year period OR an assistant project manager or up to B$ 15 million over a 2-year period.
  3. Supervises, manages and trains a team of 3 to 5 subordinates / project managers and the drafting team, including recommendation of external training.
  4. Advance knowledge of Microsoft Project, including development & editions of:
    • Critical path & baselines.
    • Formulas for status indicators.
  5. Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  6. Passionate about construction.

  14. These attributes would be considered advantageous:
    • AutoCAD drafting experience.
    • Chartered professional status / membership with the relevant professional institution.
