About the job [F/2026/001] Manager, Internal Audit - 1 position
The role holder is responsible to manage and execute Internal Audit engagements, providing objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, compliance, risk management and internal controls. Working closely with Management and business units, the role holder delivers audit and advisory support, identifies risks and control gaps, and drives value-adding recommendations that strengthen controls, improve operational efficiency and support the achievement of organisational objectives. Given the early stage of the function, the role also carries lead responsibility for developing and strengthening Internal Audit's methodologies, risk-based planning, processes and reporting as the function matures.
Roles & Responsibilities:
A. Internal Audit Planning and Execution
- Develop and execute risk-based internal audit assignments in accordance with the approved Internal Audit Plan.
- Independently plan audit engagements, including defining audit objectives and scope, assessing risks, developing audit programmes and determining appropriate audit procedures.
- Personally lead and conduct audit fieldwork, evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls, identify control gaps and assess the adequacy of risk mitigation measures.
- Prepare clear, concise and evidence-based audit findings and recommendations.
- Monitor and follow up on agreed management actions to ensure timely and effective resolution of audit findings.
B. Governance and Internal Controls
- Evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk and internal control processes across the organisation.
- Identify emerging risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for process improvement and provide practical recommendations to Management.
- Promote a strong internal control and risk-aware culture across the organisation.
- Provide advisory input, where appropriate, on new initiatives, processes and systems while maintaining the independence and objectivity of the Internal Audit function.
C. Internal Audit Function Development
- Develop and maintain internal audit methodologies, procedures, working papers, reporting formats and quality assurance practices.
- Support the development of the risk-based annual audit plan and maintain an appropriate audit universe and risk assessment framework.
- Establish audit tracking, issue follow-up, reporting and documentation.
- Identify practical improvements to make audit processes more efficient over time.
D. Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare audit reports and communicate significant findings, risks and recommendations to Management in a clear and constructive manner.
- Provide regular updates on audit activities, key findings, emerging risks and outstanding management actions.
- Support the preparation of reports and updates for the Audit Committee.
E. Continuous Improvement and Emerging Audit Areas
- Keep abreast of developments in internal auditing, governance, risk management, technology and regulatory requirements.
F. Reporting Arrangement
- Maintain appropriate professional independence in the planning, execution and reporting of internal audit activities.
- Reports directly to the Audit Committee on audit findings, significant risks and issues requiring escalation, preserving the objectivity of the Internal Audit function.
- Guided and supported by the CEO and Management Committee (ManCo) on organisational context, resourcing and business priorities, without compromising the independence of audit work.
Key Requirements :
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or a relevant discipline; a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent would be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of internal audit experience, with some exposure to leading or co-leading audit assignments, and an openness to taking on broader responsibilities over time.
- Solid working working knowledge of internal audit principles, risk management, governance and internal controls, with the ability to apply audit fundamentals in a practical business setting.
- The ability to build stakeholder relationships and influence improvements across the organization, while maintaining appropriate professional independence.
- Strong report writing, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex issues, exercise sound judgement, and prepare concise, meaningful audit reports
- Good understanding of internal controls, governance, risk management and internal audit principles, along with relevant industry practices, regulations and professional standards.
- Exposure to specialist areas such as IT audit, data analytics, investigations, sustainability/ESG or fraud risk would be an advantage.
