The metal fabricator-

Reporting to the Site Manager and Workshop Foreman your daily duties will include:

  • Ability to read Engineering drawing and Fabricate from drawings to tolerance
  • Fabrication of appropriate units to meet customer requirements according to order forms
  • Use machinery including press brake, ironworker, bandsaw, guillotine to cut/bend/punch etc various metals
  • Basic welding of steel using MIG welding plants
  • Safe use of hand tools such as Large Grinders, Drills and Petrol Con Saws etc.
  • Inspect work and identify and report and non-conformances
  • Keep the working environment clean and to minimise waste of materials and energy
  • Perform more basic tasks as required including use of sealants to seal units using cartridge guns and painting as required
  • Ability to make jigs and fixtures to standardise production tasks to ensure quality of output is consistent
  • Fabricate ancillary production items including ramps, locking bars, crash guards, covers etc
  • Train other members of the Fabrication team on tools, machinery and tasks
  • Able to repair units using own initiative and available materials
  • Redesign or improve tasks, methods, products etc to make them more efficient or make them task safer using your fabrication experience
  • Ensure paperwork is correct and complete
  • Be flexible to get involved in some of the other basic processes as and when required and be a good team player To ensure paperwork is correct and complete.
  • To comply with all company health and safety, quality and environmental procedures and policies

The metal fabricator-
· Report any low stock items in time to the Site Team Lead

· Willing to support site install teams as and when required

The metal fabricator-Skills & Qualifications Required

  • Relevant qualification in Fabrication or Engineering. (Preferred)
  • You must have a minimum of three years experience in fabrication.
  • Welding experience and/or appropriate tickets an advantage but not essential
  • Willing to train other team members
  • Able to read and understand Engineering drawings
  • Be willing and able to work as part of a team and individually where required.
  • Mig welding skills
  • Good time keeping and a positive attitude towards work.
