Job Purpose:

The Service Solutions Engineer plays a critical role as the primary contact for assigned service tasks while building and maintaining outstanding relationships with our customers. This role combines technical expertise, customer engagement, team collaboration and process adherence, directly impacting our ability to provide top-tier support. This role will be an onsite position based out of our Eagan, MN office. The salary range for this role is between $75,000 - $95,000 USD, commensurate on relevant education and job experience. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned trouble tickets, change requests and other assigned service tasks.
  • Work closely with the Service team, TS and CAS to ensure project success.
  • Work through assigned tickets and upgrades for all supported systems.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of systems upon which factory certification is achieved.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of procedures and guidelines.
  • Great communication with customers and represents Beacon in a professional way.
  • Provide support to other members of the Technical Services team.
  • Promote Beacon services and products to customers.
  • Uphold and enforce existing processes and procedures.
  • Support problem resolution and decision making through the department and organization.
  • Work with the Service team and Sr. Solutions Engineer to maintain a team environment.
  • Attending meetings to assist with technical discussions.
  • Serve as a partner and backup to the Technical Services team
  • Coordinate and assist with PTO coverage and workload balancing.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough experience in installation related to low-voltage technologies.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer network environment, Word, and Excel.
  • Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail and reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple types of end-user customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, along with proven ability to lead effective teams.
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, either individually or in a team setting.
  • Strong team player
  • Self-motivated with strong ability to learn new things quickly.
  • Experience working with critical communication systems.
  • Experience working on various security systems including access control and CCTV.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.

Education, License and Experience:

  • Experience in IT and system integrations.
  • 2-5 years low-voltage experience.
  • Technical Bachelors degree or approved equivalent.
  • Technical Training:
  • Certification in Rauland Borg Products and installations highly desired. Specifically, R5, RE and TCU.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Job sites will have a variety of environmental factors including but not limited to noise, dust, and temperature changes.
  • Work environment can be an office environment, medical facility, educational facility, or a customer site under construction, renovation, or warehouse space.
  • Must maintain a clear background check in order to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
  • Must be willing to submit to all vaccinations and screening tests required for customer jobsite badging protocol.
  • Maintain a clean and valid driving license and ability to commute to office or jobsite.
