SAP EWM Solution Architect (Senior)

Role Overview

The Consultant will be a driving force within a small team, holding direct responsibility for the end-to-end design of the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) solution.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Fit-to-Standard workshops with business stakeholders and local IT representatives.
• Coordinate requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and prioritization activities.
• Define future-state EWM processes based on Handling Unit management.
• Own the SAP EWM solution design across warehouse operations, production integration, and sterilization-related processes.
• Define EWM MFS requirements and validate integration scenarios with warehouse automation systems.
• Challenge business requirements and promote standard SAP functionality over custom developments whenever possible.
• Produce solution architecture documentation, process flows, and design decisions.
• Work closely with the IT Project Manager to manage scope, risks, dependencies, and design decisions.
• Support proof-of-concept (POC) and solution validation activities.
• Provide effort estimates, implementation roadmaps, and deployment recommendations for future phases in collaboration with IT and Business Project Managers.

Independent Decisions

• Prioritization of agreed configuration, development, testing, and training activities within the scope and project plan established by the Project Manager.

Shared Decisions

• Solution design decisions within project scope, jointly with the SAP Solution Architect for the respective process area and the Project Manager, Solution Delivery Lead, or Business Owner.
• Platform, technology, and architecture decisions impacting the broader IT architecture, jointly with Domain Architects and/or Enterprise Architects.
• Sourcing, licensing, vendor partnership decisions, or decisions outside the approved budget, architecture, or IT strategy, jointly with the IT Director and/or Solution Delivery Lead.

Mandatory Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of SAP consulting experience.
• At least 3 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA EWM implementations.
• Proven track record delivering Factory EWM implementations for global organizations.

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA EWM processes, solution design, and configuration.
• Strong knowledge of related SAP modules, including:
  • MM (Materials Management)
  • PP (Production Planning)
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Handling Units (HU)
  • RF (Radio Frequency) solutions
  • MFS (Material Flow System)
  • Warehouse automation
  • Production integration
• Experience facilitating Fit-to-Standard workshops.

Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with business and IT teams.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and workshop facilitation capabilities.

Preferred Certifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate – Extended Warehouse Management with SAP S/4HANA.
