Data Engineer

As Data Engineer you will be accountable for designing, building, and deploying solutions, monitoring systems, and developing integrations with other applications. This role includes hands-on development, responsibility for helping our stakeholders adopt solutions that drive business outcomes and gain return on investment.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Accountable for designing, building, and deploying solutions, monitoring systems, and developing integrations with other applications
• Responsible for requirements gathering, facilitation of business process discussions, solution design and documentation, application administration & configuration, testing, and end-user support
• Provide direction and leadership in promoting and implementing best practice solutions for both business process and technology
• Coordinate with projects PM and Functional Team to reach the common goal of delivering on time, in budget and high quality
• build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, and data blueprints.
• design and optimize big data pipelines, architectures and data sets
• Support the execution of main Finance programs and projects in the role of Developer and Technical Analyst

Qualification and competencies

• Experience with data applications, databases, very good knowledge of SQL, Procedural Language, ETL Tools, scripting and Programming Languages
• Proficiency in Data Model design and SQL Language (perform Data analysis, Data model implementation, query optimization)
• 2+ supporting on service technology (incident management, knowledge management, etc.) or development in a global organization
• Good team working capabilities, in the context of medium to large project teams distributed among multiple countries / locations
• Experience in delivery methodologies (Waterfall/Agile)
• High risk awareness and solution-oriented approach
• Ability to adapt to new technologies
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM faculties is mandatory
• Fluency with English language

Nice to have:

• Experience in working with Teradata or DB2 or Oracle
• familiarity with DWH concepts
• basic understanding of programming languages like Python, Scala, JAVA
• Previous exposure to Banking sector
• Willingness to understand business on top of the technical skills
• Cloud Certification
• Italian language
