Our client, a leading construction firm specializing in commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive team and drive financial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement the companys financial strategy to align with business goals.
- Lead long-term budget planning and cost management in line with the strategic plan.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board, and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely completion of annual audits.
- Operational Finance Management
- Supervise the finance department, ensuring accurate financial analysis and reporting.
- Implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Oversee cash flow management, treasury functions, and investment activities.
- Construction Project Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and track financial performance.
- Analyze project costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Review contracts to ensure financial terms are favorable and align with company objectives.
- Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to the company.
- Develop risk management policies and procedures.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage for all aspects of the business.
- Leadership and Team Development
- Provide leadership, direction, and management to the finance team (including VP, Director, and finance managers).
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Mentor and develop finance staff to ensure high performance levels.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Masters degree (MBA) or professional certifications (CMA, CPA) are preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
- Experience in the construction industry is required.
- Proven achievements in the GCC or UAE.
- Arabic speaking is mandatory.
- Proven track record of financial strategy development and implementation.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with main ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools related to construction finance management.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
