Our client, a leading construction firm specializing in commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive team and drive financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy and Planning

    • Develop and implement the companys financial strategy to align with business goals.
    • Lead long-term budget planning and cost management in line with the strategic plan.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board, and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance

    • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely completion of annual audits.
  • Operational Finance Management

    • Supervise the finance department, ensuring accurate financial analysis and reporting.
    • Implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Oversee cash flow management, treasury functions, and investment activities.
  • Construction Project Financial Oversight

    • Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and track financial performance.
    • Analyze project costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
    • Review contracts to ensure financial terms are favorable and align with company objectives.
  • Risk Management

    • Identify and mitigate financial risks to the company.
    • Develop risk management policies and procedures.
    • Ensure adequate insurance coverage for all aspects of the business.
  • Leadership and Team Development

    • Provide leadership, direction, and management to the finance team (including VP, Director, and finance managers).
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department.
    • Mentor and develop finance staff to ensure high performance levels.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Masters degree (MBA) or professional certifications (CMA, CPA) are preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
    • Experience in the construction industry is required.
    • Proven achievements in the GCC or UAE.
    • Arabic speaking is mandatory.
    • Proven track record of financial strategy development and implementation.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
    • Familiarity with main ERP systems.
    • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in financial software and tools related to construction finance management.
    • Strong leadership abilities with the capability to influence at all levels of the organization.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
