A US-based software platform headquartered in the Monmouth County NJ area in use by hundreds of news publishers doing great things for their community helps them outperform Google and Facebook for local ad sales (and they definitely deserve it). It was created in 2012. Their AI-powered platform combines innovation and simplicity, offering a library of over 200 unique ad formats (like their famous 3D rotating cube), advanced analytics, and seamless campaign management tools.

They are over 10 years into writing a grand underdog story. They´re underdogs for a lot of reasons. All of their customers are underdogs.

The team is seeking intrinsically motivated thinkers, scrappy specialists, managers, and misfits.

Currently, the team is hiring for a Senior Software Engineer. Apart from the CEO and COO, you will be the only engineer on the team youll have flexibility and autonomy as long as you do great work.

The tech stack is Ruby/Rails, Node, MySQL, Postgres, Clickhouse, and a bunch of other stuff hosted on AWS and managed pretty well.

Responsibilities:

  • Top-level work in building and maintaining a high-volume web app (40MM/requests/day), also enhancing their AI integrations.

  • Helping the support team find/kill bugs, which will include writing automated tests with RSpec

  • Doing DevOps stuff

  • Being a baller


Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Ruby on Rails, Node.js, MySQL/PostgreSQL (ClickHouse), and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Proven experience with automated testing frameworks, particularly RSpec.

  • Experience building and maintaining high-volume web applications.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with AI integrations or tools.

  • Deep understanding of optimizing performance for high-traffic platforms.

Travel is not expected to be frequent but might occasionally happen (1 time yearly) for the company on sites (eg, fun times).
