Currently, the team is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to develop and optimize the core infrastructure powering their platform. In this role, youll design and implement their Real-Time Bidding RTB engine and APIs for managing postal inventory, enabling advertisers to reach targeted audiences with speed and precision. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of scalable backend development, real-time processing, and geospatial data.

Your work will include:

  • Design, implement, and optimize the RTB engine, ensuring ultra-low-latency decision-making at scale.
  • Build and maintain APIs for managing inventory, bid requests, and publisher integrations.
  • Adapt and extend OpenRTB protocols to include postal-specific attributes like ZIP codes and delivery costs.
  • Develop scalable systems for querying and managing geospatial data, such as polygonal regions and proximity-based targeting.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineer to integrate real-time data pipelines that power the RTB and reporting systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.



What You Bring

Required Skills and Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience: 5 years in backend development, with expertise in:

  • Programming in Typescript, Python, Golang, or Java.

  • Building and optimizing scalable, distributed backend systems.

  • Working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB or Cassandra.

  • Handling geospatial data using tools like PostGIS or Elasticsearch.

  • Strong understanding of APIs, including RESTful and event-driven architectures.

  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, and API Gateway


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of programmatic advertising protocols such as OpenRTB.

  • Experience with caching layers like Redis for low-latency operations.

  • Proficiency in debugging and performance optimization techniques.

  • Experience with event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or similar technologies.
