About the Role
We are looking for a Senior IT Specialist to join our team and take ownership of our IT infrastructure, systems, security, and technical operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in IT administration, infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity, with the ability to identify risks, implement security measures, and ensure a reliable and secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and endpoints.
- Monitor and maintain network performance, servers, workstations, and IT systems.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, controls, and best practices.
- Monitor security threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular security assessments and recommend improvements.
- Manage user access, permissions, authentication, and security controls.
- Ensure proper endpoint protection, antivirus/EDR, firewall, and network security.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
- Investigate and respond to IT security incidents when required.
- Maintain IT documentation, security procedures, and asset records.
- Ensure systems and software are regularly patched and updated.
- Work with different departments to resolve technical issues and provide IT support.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve security, efficiency, and scalability.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers when needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT and information security policies.
- Support IT projects, system implementations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Requirements
- 4–6+ years of experience in IT administration, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience with cybersecurity and information security.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and network security.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management.
- Knowledge of cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a strong advantage.
- Experience with endpoint security, vulnerability management, access control, and security monitoring.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of IT security frameworks, policies, and best practices.
- Experience handling security incidents and technical investigations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of IT operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, CCNA, or Microsoft/Azure certifications are a plus.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, or other security monitoring tools.
- Experience in implementing or improving an organization's cybersecurity infrastructure.
- Experience working in a fast-paced or growing organization.
