2nd Engineer / Drillship

Support the Chief Engineer in managing the Engine Department and ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all propulsion, power generation and auxiliary systems on board the Drillship. Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company procedures, statutory regulations and offshore operational requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Support the Chief Engineer in the daily management of the Engine Department.
• Supervise engine room operations and engineering personnel during assigned watches.
• Ensure planned and corrective maintenance is carried out in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
• Monitor the performance and reliability of propulsion, power generation and auxiliary machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to minimise operational downtime.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other vessel departments when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL and company procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is performed in accordance with HSE requirements.
• Assume the Chief Engineer's duties when delegated.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Second Engineer Unlimited Certificate of Competency (STCW III/2).
• Previous experience as 2nd Engineer on a Drillship or Semi-Submersible.
• Strong knowledge of marine diesel propulsion, power generation and engine room operations.
• Good command of English.
