Job Summary

We are currently looking for an experienced Rig Chief Mechanic to join a modern 7th Generation Drillship. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all mechanical systems and drilling equipment onboard while maintaining full compliance with company procedures and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the mechanical department onboard the drillship.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure safe and reliable operation of drilling machinery and mechanical systems.
• Oversee maintenance of:
  • Drawworks
  • Top Drive
  • Mud Pumps
  • Rotary Equipment
  • BOP Handling Equipment
  • Pipe Handling Systems
  • Cranes and Lifting Equipment
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
  • Compressors and Auxiliary Machinery
• Coordinate troubleshooting and emergency repairs.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented in the CMMS.
• Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance planning.
• Supervise contractors and third-party service personnel.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, company procedures, and class requirements.
• Mentor and develop the mechanical crew onboard.

Requirements

• Previous experience as Rig Chief Mechanic on a Drillship.
• Strong background in offshore drilling operations.
• Extensive knowledge of drilling equipment and mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with preventive and planned maintenance systems (CMMS).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).
