About the job Resort Manager
Our client is a luxury beachfront resort nestled within a 100-hectare reserve on Indonesia's Sumba Island, offering minimalist villas with private pools, pristine white-sand beaches, and immersive cultural experiences amidst the ancestral lands of Sumba ethnic. They are currently seeking a Resort Manager to oversee operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the luxury hospitality industry as Room Divisions Manager or Director of Rooms.
- A solid background in resort operation is essential.
- Thorough understanding of resort operations, including guest service, food and beverage, housekeeping, and recreation.
- A well-developed capability for strategic decision-making and a track record of proven results in customer satisfaction, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, revenue and profit.
- International work experience is a plus.
- Excellent leadership skills with a strong sense of accountability and leads by example.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze financial statements and manage budget.
- Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to live in a remote location for extended periods and travel on a single status.
Responsibilities:
- Operations: Supervise accommodation services, recreational activities, and food and beverage operations to maintain seamless service across all departments.
- Guest Relations: Personally host and welcome guests to ensure a warm, memorable, and personalized luxury experience.
- Leadership & Staff Management: Provide effective leadership and management for all resort staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high morale.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the resort operates at the highest standards of luxury, quality, and service excellence.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Design and implement innovative policies and procedures to elevate guest experiences and optimize employee performance.
- Facility Maintenance: Oversee routine maintenance of resort facilities, ensuring rooms, equipment, and recreational areas are impeccably maintained.
- Team Collaboration: Build and sustain a collaborative, positive, and inspiring work culture for all team members.
- Reporting: Serve as the primary point of communication for ownership, providing regular updates and insights on operations.
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
- Formulate and seek approval of Annual Operating Budgets
- Monitor revenue and expenses against budgets and take appropriate action where required
- Prepares and ensures that all reports and communication target dates with the Management Company and Owners are met and within the prescribed standards and set deadlines.
- Check and approve monthly and annual financial reports before they are submitted to the home office.
- Ensure all financial objectives and targets are met and exceeded for the resort.
MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE
- Ensure that a minimum of 10% of the colleagues complete cross-training or inter-departmental/ property training.
- Ensure that succession plans are designed and followed up.
- Trains, guides and develops immediate subordinates to greater heights of efficiency.
- Counsels/disciplines all operating managerial staff.
