Our client is a five-star resort with multiple F&B outlets, recognised globally as a hospitality leader for its legendary service, world-class spa retreats and distinct dining concept and is currently seeking a Director of Sales.

As a Director of Sales, your role is crucial to lead, develop and implement sales activity with the assigned market. You are also responsible for building a sales annual plan and associated sales activities to execute with the Sales Team to achieve sales targets and company goals.

Your key role is to drive the right business at the right price to ensure the resort achieves budgeted occupancy, rate and revenue.

As a leader, you are responsible for monitoring the progress of team sales objectives and targets through supervision and guidance to ensure the team also achieves financial targets in all revenue streams. 

Requirements:

  • University degree or diploma in Business, Economy, Marketing or Hospitality/Tourism management.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent command of the English language, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understand the non-traditional, experiential approach of a luxury property.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Must have advanced market and industry knowledge.
  • Advanced selling skills with familiarity with emotional intelligence.
  • Business leadership, cross-cultural work environments exposure, and critical problem analysis/resolution skills.
  • European work background or experience is a bonus.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • A proven track record of driving business results from previous experiences in ultra-luxury brands or similar five-star establishments.
  • Pre-opening experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and strengthening relationships with existing and new clients with the objective of growing business, shifting market share, and increasing exposure for the property and the Brand.
  • Monitors team and ensures that team plans and records all sales-related activities.
  • Organizes Sales weekly meetings to track performance and monitor the effectiveness of strategies.
  • Keeps up to date with market trends and utilizes all Business Intelligence reports available.
  • Attends weekly Revenue Meetings with recommendations and updates.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of performance reviews of the team.
  • Being the subject matter expert and thought leader in your assigned market/segment.
  • Analyzing, evaluating and monitoring account production and implementing sales action plans aligned with the annual marketing plan to meet sales team goals.
  • Planning, participating and coordinating sales calls, familiarization trips, site inspections and hosted entertainment functions.
  • Creating and implementing short and long-term marketing strategies to meet sales team goals and maintain or grow properties market share position.
  • Demonstrating active listening to understand the client's business objectives.
  • Communicating property benefits and features to meet the client's expressed and unexpressed needs.
  • Representing the property at trade shows and industry events.
  • Contributing to the development of the annual marketing plan.
  • Monitoring correct data entry in all sales systems to ensure high degrees of data hygiene to aid accurate reporting abilities.
  • Monitoring, advancing and directing lead status.
  • Effectively use social media and digital platforms to prospect for new clients and connect with existing clients.
  • Creating interesting storytelling presentations to communicate your property's features and benefits.
  • Ensuring all sales activities and data entry are logged and tracked per standard operating practices.
  • Creating and implementing short and long-term marketing strategies to meet sales team goals.
