Our client is an ultra-luxury resort, recognized globally as a leader in the hospitality industry. As a Spa Manager, you will be responsible for guiding and leading the operational and financial direction of the spa and wellness team, ensuring the complete viability of the business. This includes maximizing all opportunities and resources, such as recommending holistic therapies, fitness and yoga practices, retail products, and nutritional advice to help guests maintain a healthy lifestyle, eliminate impurities, and reduce stress.
You will work strategically with the Director of Wellness to develop cohesive and productive goals for your department and establish procedures and guidelines to achieve them.
Requirements
- A degree or certification in Hospitality, Wellness, or Business Management
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a similar luxury resort operational role
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of spa treatments, wellness practices, and fitness management
- Certification in health and wellness management, holistic training, or similar is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Active personal involvement with the sales strategy/process, with an emphasis on continuing to increase the visibility and positioning of the Spa & Wellness Programs
- Experience in resorts, hotels, or Destination Spas is highly desired
- Very good command of written and spoken English
- Work experience in a remote location is a plus
Responsibilities
General
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and practices and updating knowledge and skills to improve the product and service offering.
- Processes will be constantly assessed and reviewed to remain relevant, innovative and in keeping with the brand's wellness and sustainability practices.
- Responsible for reviewing services, products and rates to remain relevant and in keeping with the brand's wellness and sustainability practices.
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the spa. In the event of guest complaints, effectively carry out service recovery to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Regularly meet with the Director of Wellness to plan the next steps in spa operations and liaise with involved departments.
- Knowledge of all facilities and services offered by the spa including the type of treatments and services available as well as their selling status, and benefits of all package plans, wellness plans and special promotions.
- Oversee the management of guest history and profiles.
- Conduct site inspection and ensure all details are in place and ready for daily operations.
- Responsible that the Visiting Experts calendar is in place and developing spa packages and programs and adapting spa menu aligning it with company updates, local market and guest requirements.
Administrative/ Reporting
- Record monthly the number and revenue of direct and indirect wellness revenue as per template
- Assist Spa Manager for integrative wellness financial reports.
- Log all service & product recommendations.
- To attend departmental meetings as required.
Sales & Marketing
- Together with the Spa Director create a marketing plan of how to promote the screening to guests before and during the stay of guests, involving all needed departments.
- Create together with the Spa Director and lead generation and sales goals and take active measures to achieve these goals.
- Actively encourage guests to have repeat wellness consultation follow-ups which feature integrative wellness.
- To communicate with the Spa Director for press release or recent developments in the spa.
- To provide wellness-related content for Spa Social media.
Training, Development & Coordination
- Ensuring in cooperation with the HR/training department (if available) that all hosts in the spa/resort are aware of the wellness offers (all wellness projects) and can communicate the offers to guests, using available training material, "Cheat sheets" and if necessary creating own materials.
- Together with the Wellness Director and HR coordinate wellness initiatives in the front and back of the house.
- Identify knowledge gaps within the resort and work together with the HR/training department (if available) to fill them.
- To assist in providing departmental orientation to newly recruited staff.
- To assist with the training with Spa Reception on treatment sequencing for best results of packages and treatment combinations.
- To conduct complimentary activities for hosts.
- To assist the resort reservations team in actively promoting spa & wellness programs and encourage leads to be passed to enable conversions.
- Attend regular wellness webinars organized by the corporate.
- Ensure the standards and methods of service are maintained as per the brand standard/manual.
- To work in liaison with the Spa Management to maintain all training standards.
Equipment & Room
- Ensure the consultation rooms meet the standards.
- Take active measures to ensure all needed equipment is available and in good working order at all times.
- To ensure that the Integrative wellness equipment is stored and used securely protecting the asset and ensuring confidentiality of the guest's personal details.
- Take pro-active measures to ensure all needed items are available at all times.
- To report any breakage or malfunction of any items at the spa and follow up on the repair and maintenance.
