About the job Cost Controller

Our client is a boutique hospitality group located in Bingin, Uluwatu, Bali, operating an exclusive clifftop villa and dining concept overlooking the ocean. They are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Controller to oversee cost management, inventory control, and financial reporting while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cost Controller or in a similar finance role within the hospitality, hotel, or food and beverage industry.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, food & beverage cost control, purchasing, and stock management procedures.
  • Proficient in cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience conducting inventory counts, stock reconciliations, and cost variance analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal financial controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with inventory management, POS, and accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operational departments.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control food, beverage, and operational costs to ensure profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and reconcile stock discrepancies.
  • Review purchasing activities, supplier invoices, and receiving records to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Analyze cost variances, consumption trends, and inventory movements, providing recommendations to improve cost performance.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost control reports for management review.
  • Work closely with the Finance, Purchasing, Kitchen, and Operations teams to ensure effective inventory and cost management.
  • Monitor recipe costing, menu pricing, and portion control to maintain targeted food and beverage cost percentages.
  • Ensure proper inventory controls, stock rotation, and storage procedures are consistently implemented.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate cost data and financial analysis.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and audit requirements.
