Our client is a beachfront boutique luxury 5* resort located in Kuta, Bali, known for its vibrant energy, chic lifestyle, diverse dining destinations, and iconic sunsets. They are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and oversee all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the efficient functioning, safety, and sustainability of the resort's facilities while upholding the highest standards of service and operational excellence.

Requirements:

    • Minimum two years of all-round managerial experience in luxury hotel operations.
    • White Card or relevant trade certifications
    • Valid First Aid Certificate
    • Extensive knowledge of the luxury hotel operations
    • Strong English communication skills (written & verbal)
    • Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Extensive knowledge of the luxury resort operations.
    • Excellent communication skills: able to effectively communicate with all levels of colleagues.
    • The ability to keep up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise.
    • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and commitment to hospitality excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all maintenance activities, ensuring all requirements are appropriately actioned on a daily basis and in accordance with an agreed long-term maintenance strategy, including maintaining the building, equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the maintenance department and achieve the results and expectations set by Senior Management, including the General Manager.
  • Oversee all internal and external maintenance activities, ensuring the lowest operating costs while achieving the most effective results.
  • Ensure resort standards and procedures are consistently maintained, and proactively implement improvements to maintenance activities in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of all maintenance requirements, including building systems, equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Action and prioritize maintenance requests based on urgency and importance, as agreed with the General Manager and in accordance with established preventive maintenance programs.
  • Communicate effectively on a daily basis with the maintenance team and other departments, and provide detailed maintenance updates during operations meetings or as requested.
  • Lead and manage assigned maintenance team members, ensuring effective daily briefings, shift handovers, task allocation, and clear communication between management and team members.
  • Obtain and provide comparable quotations for parts, services, or repairs when required.
  • Prepare proposals and budget estimates for new equipment or capital expenditure as needed.
  • Liaise closely with the General Manager, maintenance team, and relevant stakeholders to ensure guest rooms and public areas under maintenance are returned to operation as quickly as possible.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner, reporting back upon completion or advising of any expected delays, particularly for guest-related issues.
  • Conduct daily property inspections and identify any equipment that appears or sounds faulty.
  • Participate in routine hotel walks and scheduled maintenance inspections.
