About the job Director of Operations

Our client is a luxury boutique hotel group with more than 10 locations in Bali, headquartered in Ubud. With a growing portfolio of unique properties of 4* and 5* star hotel units in prime locations of Bali, they are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Operations to oversee multi-unit hotel operations, drive operational excellence, and ensure consistent implementation of company standards across all properties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel/resort operations within senior leadership roles (e.g., Hotel Manager, Executive Assistant Manager, Director of Operations, or Resort Manager)
  • Strong background in managing resort or multi-unit operations with solid business and commercial understanding
  • Proven experience working in Bali, with in-depth familiarity of the Ubud market; currently based in Bali is preferred (Gianyar area is an advantage)
  • Experience in local boutique brand
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to drive team alignment, performance, and accountability across multiple units
  • Strategic mindset supported by strong analytical skills, including P&L management and operational performance review
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to develop and implement training programs to enhance team capability and consistency
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities effectively within deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel systems (PMS), with good understanding of operational reporting
  • Open to Indonesian citizens only

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure smooth operations across all units, including ongoing operations, new projects, acquisitions, and transitions
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, concepts, and company-wide policies to support business growth and consistency
  • Lead and align unit heads to ensure company standards, SOPs, and policies are consistently executed
  • Conduct regular site visits and operational reviews to monitor performance and provide strategic direction
  • Drive communication and coordination across units through routine meetings and operational reporting
  • Participate in and oversee financial performance discussions, including periodic P&L reviews and operational reports
  • Initiate and implement training programs for unit leaders, ensuring continuous development and consistency
  • Represent operations in project meetings and support business expansion initiatives
  • Monitor and support distribution channels and overall commercial alignment where required
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and uphold the company's brand reputation and standards
