Our client is a speciality coffee company known globally for its modern concept stores, artisanal coffee, and innovative brewing techniques. They are currently seeking a Head Baker to lead the preparation of high-quality bakery products, ensure consistency across outlets, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and kitchen operations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Bakery Chef or in a comparable culinary role.
  • Solid knowledge of bakery and pastry production techniques.
  • Strong familiarity with kitchen hygiene, HACCP standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Skilled in maintaining kitchen organization, cleanliness, and inventory control.
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced setting while meeting deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communicator with strong teamwork skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to follow directions from senior chefs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare pastries and bakery items accurately and according to established recipes.
  • Store all ingredients properly in compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain awareness of cross-contamination risks and their impact on health.
  • Ensure all products are labeled with production and expiry dates.
  • Work efficiently and complete tasks within set timelines.
  • Oversee proper placement and organization of materials in both the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Prepare pastries and bakery items as requested by the Chef.
  • Wash, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and delicatessen products for daily sandwich production.
  • Keep all storage areas clean, organized, and properly labeled.
  • Mark all opened packages with the date of opening.
  • Ensure HACCP standards are consistently followed by kitchen staff.
  • Maintain personal hygiene at all times.
  • Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures as instructed by the Chef.
  • Prepare a variety of sandwiches following standardized recipes.
  • Ensure all baked goods and bakery products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
