Job Openings Process Engineer

About the job Process Engineer

Process Engineer | Somerset West (Hybrid)

Most process engineering roles in banking involve tweaking legacy systems that were built before you started high school. This is not one of those roles.

An established retailer with a rapidly growing market footprint is building a financial services wing from scratch. They need an Industrial Engineer to design and map the entire operational architecture before the internal launch in October, ahead of the public go-live in April 2027.

What is in it for you?

  • Ground Floor Influence: You will define the processes of this bank before a single customer opens an account. Your fingerprints will be on the operational foundation.
  • Clear Career Velocity: As the financial wing grows, the team will scale. Entering at this stage means you are positioned to lead and advance as the department expands.
  • Balanced Hybrid Structure: A predictable routine of 3 days in the Somerset West office for collaborative mapping, and 2 days remote to focus on execution.

The Scope of Work

This role sits at the intersection of retail efficiency and banking compliance. You will be responsible for mapping end-to-end workflows, identifying operational bottlenecks before they affect users, and scaling systems to handle high-volume retail traffic.

The Essentials

  • A completed degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • A minimum of 7 years of process engineering experience specifically within banking or financial services.
  • Current residency in the Western Cape with the ability to commute to Somerset West three days a week.
