The Challenge
As Lead Engineer High-Voltage Battery Service, you will play a pivotal role in LKQs newly established pilot centre for high-voltage battery services in Brussels. You will take full ownership of the end-to-end battery service process from diagnostics to repair to recommissioning while developing and implementing innovative, scalable solutions. You will also be part of an organization in its startup phase, but backed by a strong and healthy international player in the automotive aftermarket, with a leading role in the market.

You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution, working across multiple brands and battery applications. Your work will directly contribute to building a service offering that enables a sustainable, circular economy in the automotive aftermarket.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own and develop a multi-brand diagnostic and repair strategy for high-voltage batteries
  • Define and implement development methodology aligned with timeline and budget
  • Analyse battery failure modes and lead hands-on disassembly and reassembly
  • Develop aftermarket-specific repair procedures and qualify reused components
  • Identify and source specialised diagnostic and test equipment
  • Ensure feasibility of aftermarket service using OEM and independent tools
  • Continuously review and improve safety procedures and standards
  • Structure and document knowledge for recurring failure modes and solutions
  • Build partnerships with suppliers, OEMs, and internal teams

Your Profile

  • Degree in mechanical, electrical or similar engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a product or process development role
  • Proven background at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier, with demonstrable
    process/project management experience
  • High-voltage battery training and hands-on experience
  • Entrepreneurial mindset / flexible in
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive fail fast, learn fast approach
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch and/or German are a plus)
