About the job Chief Accountant
Job Objective
Lead and direct the accounting department to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of financial and accounting operations, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with financial standards and policies.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
- Supervise all daily accounting operations.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting books.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable.
- Prepare periodic financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
- Provide analytical financial reports to senior management for informed decision-making.
- Prepare annual financial reports and coordinate with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and accounting standards (e.g., Jordanian and Saudi financial reporting standards).
- Review and update internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Prepare and monitor the company's annual budget.
- Analyze variances between actual and expected budget and take corrective actions.
- Provide recommendations to improve the efficiency of financial resource use.
- Train and guide the accounting team.
- Organize regular meetings to evaluate performance and discuss possible improvements.
- Participate in the company's strategic financial planning.
- Provide analyses and recommendations to improve the company's financial position.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting, including 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in preparing financial reports and managing budgets.
