- Career, Education and Employment Related information, such as job preferences, work history, nationality and immigration status, disability-related information, education history (including schools attended, academic degrees, professional qualifications, areas of study) and similar data.
- Sensitive personal data, such as information about your health, including whether you are vaccinated against any communicable diseases or criminal convictions.

Axis related companies: we may share your personal information amongst the companies within the Axis group of companies.
In the event of merger, sale or change of control: we may transfer this Privacy Policy and your personal information to a third party that acquires or is merged with us as part of a merger, acquisition, sale or other change of control.
Other disclosures: we may disclose your personal information to a third-party if we reasonably believe that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law or regulation, to comply with or respond to a legal process or law enforcement, to enforce our terms and conditions or other rights, to detect, or address fraud or security issues, or to protect against harm to rights, property or safety of Axis, our users, or the public.
DATA SECURITY
The security of your information is important to us. Taking into account the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing of personal information, as well as the risks to individuals, we have implemented technical and organization measures designed to protect the security of personal information. However, pleasure note that no internet communication or electronic storage is 100 percent secure. Therefore, we strive to use commercially acceptable measures, having regard to the nature of the personal information and the risks they may pose, to protect personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our security measures also mean that we may request proof of identity before we disclose personal information to you or before we process your other requests.
DATA RETENTION
We will retain your personal information for up to the maximum amount of time we are permitted to do so by law after we have communicated to you our decision about whether to appoint you to the role for which you have applied. We retain your personal information to (i) fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, (ii) meet timelines determined or recommended by regulators, professional bodies or associations, (iii) comply with applicable laws and other legal obligations (including contractual obligations), (iv) comply with your requests. Where any of the retention periods cease to apply, we will securely destroy your personal information.
If you wish us to retain your personal information on file for a further opportunity that may arise in future and you want us to consider you for that, please tick the box on the application software while submitting your work application.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the following rights under the Mauritian data protection legislation:
- Right to be informed – the right to know of the specific categories of personal information that are being processed and the reason for the processing.
- Right to access – the right to ask whether we are processing your personal information, and if this is the case, to request for a copy.
- Right to object to processing – the right to object, in writing, to the processing of your personal information. However, we may have compelling grounds for the processing which will override your right. In addition, if after having submitted an application you object to the processing of your personal information, we shall not proceed further with your application.
- Right to rectification and erasure – the right to request us to rectify any inaccurate personal information which we hold on you.
- Right not to be subject to automated decision-making – the right not to be subject to a decision solely based on automated processing, including profiling which produces legal effects concerning you or significantly affects you.
- Right to make a complaint – the right to make a complaint to the Data Protection Office if you have concerns with the manner your personal information are being processed. However, we you to first reach out to us at careers@axis.mu, so that we have an opportunity to address your concerns directly.
- Right to withdraw consent – the right to withdraw your consent for processing of your personal information for the purposes of the recruitment exercise at any time. If you choose to withdraw your consent after you have submitted your application, we shall not proceed with your application and we shall delete all your personal information. As our organization changes over time, this Privacy Policy is expected to change as well. We reserve the right to amend this Policy document at any time, and without notice to you other than posting an updated Privacy Policy on our recruitment website.
