About the job Intern - IT Support
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to staff via helpdesk (email, phone, in-person) for OS, software, and hardware issues
- System Maintenance: Set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and other peripherals
- Network & Infrastructure: Assist with network monitoring, VPN troubleshooting, and basic server maintenance
- Documentation: Create and update documentation, user guides, technical manuals, and IT knowledge base articles
- IT Projects: Support IT projects, including testing and implementing new software, applying security patches, and system migrations
- Inventory Management: Conduct audits of hardware and software assets to maintain accurate inventory records
Person Specifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Computer Science, Information Technology, or related programs
- Basic understanding of networking principles, operating systems (Windows/Linux/macOS), and hardware
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and teams
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ticketing systems, or scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is a plus
- Willingness to learn new technologies, adapt quickly to change, and support ongoing IT initiatives
