Main Responsibilities
Legal Strategy and Compliance
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology contracts to protect ADLs interests.
- Legal Oversight: Provide legal oversight for all business transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements affecting the organizations operations globally.
Risk Management and Advisory
- Risk Analysis: Identify and assess legal risks across various business operations, advising on mitigation strategies.
- Legal Advisory: Serve as a primary legal advisor, offering insights on matters related to intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and labor laws.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to enhance organizational efficiency and risk management.
Operational Support and Management
- Legal Support: Provide comprehensive legal support to all departments, facilitating smooth business operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the legal team, ensuring professional development and high performance.
- Global Legal Operations: Manage and oversee global legal operations, aligning them with ADLs strategic objectives.
Documentation and Intellectual Property
- Document Management: Manage the legal document repository, ensuring proper classification and accessibility.
- Intellectual Property: Advise on and manage intellectual property issues, protecting ADLs assets and interests.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research, prepare legal opinions and presentations, and maintain legal and regulatory trackers up to date.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in law, Legal Studies, or equivalent is required; a Master's degree or Juris Doctorate is preferred.
- At least 10 years of legal experience in a corporate environment, with significant exposure to contract management, intellectual property, and international law.
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial and technology contracts, intellectual property rights, corporate governance, and compliance regulations.
- Familiarity with global legal frameworks and the ability to navigate the legal and regulatory landscapes across multiple jurisdictions.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and legal analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Proficient in legal research and the use of legal databases.
