Junior IT Technician

VACANCY: Junior IT Technician.

REPORTING TO: IT Manager.

LOCATION: South Africa, Durban.

SAF Aerogroup has a requirement for a detail-oriented, problem-solving and analytical individual to fill the position of a Junior IT Technician. The role will be based in Durban, South Africa.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical Support: Provide first-line support to users, resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.

• Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networking equipment.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems promptly and effectively.

• Network Administration: Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) and ensure end-user connectivity.

• Documentation: Maintain records of IT assets, update technical documentation, and log resolved issues.

• User Training: Provide guidance and training to end-users on system functionality, security, and best practices.

CRITICAL REQUIREMENT:

• Excellent Communications skills.

• Problem-solving abilities.

• Attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office software.

• Knowledge of network configurations, protocols, and equipment (routers, switches, etc.).

• Experience with IT troubleshooting tools and remote support applications.
• Excellent Interpersonal skills.
• Strong Administration skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
• A+ Certification, Network+, or other IT certifications (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
