Program Manager 

Join the team of a top global automotive, medical, and cosmetics parts manufacturer in the role of Program Manager. Lead engineering changes across several product lines through design, launch, and support phases, managing compliance, and improving engineering process and efficiency. A background in plastic injection molding will be prioritized. 

Position: Program Manager 
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Classification: Exempt
Location: 
Conover, NC 

Salary: $90,000-$110,000 

Position Summary: 

  • Manages engineering changes and new product introduction.
  • This position will actively manage compliance with APQP and change control requirements.
  • This position will interface with customers and colleagues to ensure trouble-free launches of new products and changes to existing products. 
  • Maintain adherence to requirements of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 5001 & TISAX that apply to activities performed

Essential Functions: 

  • Lead the launch of new programs utilizing company systems within budget.
  • Be the recognized program leader at the customer and internally for all issues prior to PPAP approval.
  • Ensure that the BOM is accurately loaded into the MRP system and all production items are identified and approved before SOP
  • Utilize Engineering change process to implement changes to BOM after initial loading and SOP.
  • Provide sales team with the necessary information to manage within requirements & eliminate cost creep.
  • Manage tooling & equipment supplier within requirements, molds/machines meet quality & cycle time standards, delivered on time & within budget.
  • Demonstrate each tool/equipment meets the targeted cycle time, scrap rate, part weight, and uptime efficiency through official run-at-rate events.
  • Lead corrective actions to resolve any cycle time, scrape rate, part weight & uptime efficiency after SOP, if necessary
  • Interface with both production and company cost optimization projects.
  • Lead significant Engineering Changes or major tooling refurbishment projects after SOP.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering Discipline
  • 1-3 years program management experience
  • 3+ years experience in Injection Molding
  • Working experience with ISO 14001, IATF 16949 etc.
  • Working experience of CAD systems
  • Previous experience in the automotive or automotive supplier industry.
  • Great ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal 
  • Computer experience required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred:

  • Experience with VDA-RGA methodology
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience with GD&T
