Position: Senior Software Architect

Location: Remote (Pakistan)

Job Type: Full-time

Work Hours: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM PST

Role Overview:

We're seeking a Senior Software Architect to design, build, and evolve large-scale backend systems for production use. You'll lead system-level design, implement critical components, and guide other developers in executing high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain backend systems that handle production workloads at scale.
• Lead architectural improvements and redesigns for APIs, crawlers, data pipelines, and other critical systems.
• Build new production systems from scratch and ensure long-term maintainability.
• Break down complex designs into actionable components and delegate tasks effectively.
• Support live systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with leadership and senior engineers on technical direction.
• Mentor developers through code reviews, design discussions, and best practices.

Requirements:

• 10+ years in software engineering or architecture, with a strong backend focus.
• Proven track record of designing and maintaining production systems used by real users.
• Experience designing APIs and backend systems at scale.
• Strong systems thinking: performance, scalability, failure modes, and maintainability.
• Ability to work autonomously and make high-impact technical decisions.
• Python experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) for productivity and code quality.

Nice to Have:

• Experience evolving legacy systems.
• Background in data-heavy systems (feeds, crawlers, analytics pipelines).
• Infrastructure, scalability, and performance tuning experience.
• Mentoring mid- and senior-level developers.
