Job Title: Industrial Hygienist, Safety, and Environmental Instructor
Compensation: $26.00 $28.00 per hour (DOE) + Benefits
Location: Federal Way (Some Local Travel Required)
Reports To: Training Department Manager

About the Opportunity

Autonomy Staffing is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Industrial Hygienist, Safety, and Environmental Instructor to work with our client, a leading industrial hygiene and environmental consulting firm. Our client offers in-person and online courses in industrial hygiene, hazardous materials investigation, worker health and safety compliance, and environmental sampling.

Job Overview

The instructor will lead daily training sessions for classes ranging from 1 to 30 participants, ensuring engaging and informative instruction across multiple industrial hygiene, health and safety, and environmental disciplines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to deliver practical, real-world knowledge to students. This role also involves maintaining training materials, ensuring compliance with state reporting requirements, and traveling locally for off-site training sessions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training sessions for:
    • AHERA Building Inspector courses
    • 32-Hour Asbestos Worker & Refresher courses
    • 16-Hour O&M Worker courses
    • Lead Renovator training
    • General health and safety classes
  • Maintain and update training materials as needed
  • Assist the Training Manager in various administrative and instructional tasks
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and clients
  • Conduct periodic evening classes and off-site training as required
  • Travel locally for training sessions (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Obtain Notary License (company-sponsored after 90 days of employment)

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (required for training purposes)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Ability to learn and pass various certification programs (prior knowledge of class topics not required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pass a background check for federal installations

Education & Experience

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in science, Health & Safety, or Education
  • Alternative Qualification: Experience as an Asbestos Abatement Supervisor, AHERA Project Designer, or Health & Safety Supervisor
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
