Job Purpose:

Telecoms. Engineer is in charge of the installation, the operations and the maintenance of the telecommunications and Data networks between and within all existing sites and any future extension. The job holder ensures good working conditions and operation of the telecommunications equipment. He/She must carefully anticipate his actions plan to avoid disturbances on other sites. He/She verifies that every telecom equipment and link is fully in agreement with the Myanmar regulations. He/She must be available in case of communication failure or emergency. He/She will work occasionally on sites and must be very autonomous in his tasks while on site.

• Sites to be supported (WAN)_4 Sites
• Network_3 international links and 4 main domestic links
• Equipment to be supported on sites_ VSAT systems, HF radio, Marine VHF, Aero VHF, INMARSAT, radio trunking, radio beacons, PA/GA, Radio paging, entertainment systems
• No. of Servers and PCs_ 50 servers and 320 PCs
• No. of Data communication equipment_ 11 routers & over 30 switches
• No. of Users_ 320
• Support & Relations_ Internal users, external suppliers, and other Departments



Key Accountabilities:

• Participates in the telecom and network studies and proposes solutions with the telecom department.
• In charge of repairing the telecommunications and network equipment and defines their preventive maintenance plan.
• Is responsible for the proper installation of the growing networks in all sites.
• Defines the parameters for network equipment, verifies their good operation and intervenes for troubleshooting when necessary.
• Supports technically his colleagues on sites in network and telecommunication issues.
• Ensures the maximum availability of the links and equipment, maintains the correct spare part levels and stock and is responsible for the good operation of the test equipment.
• Liaises with the MPT engineers from the technical point of view: telephone, fiber, overseas station, etc.
• Maintains good and close relationships with HQ network and telecom teams.
• Interface with the Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications authorities from the technical point of view.

Ensure that all IS & Telecoms actions are compliant with Company Assets SSHE policies. Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information. Ensure no data breach has occurred by IS&T activities. To ensure emergency communication link for safety.

Professional Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor in Electronics or Telecommunications.
• 5 years experience in telecommunications areas.
• Very good knowledge of satellite communication systems.
• At least 2 years experience in Oil industry.
• Good proficiency of English.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
