REQUIREMENT & EDUCATIONS:

  • Graduate degree in relevant engineering or earth sciences
  • More than 15 years as Senior Subsea Engineer
  • A very good overall knowledge of offshore operations.
  • Wellhead & Horizontal subsea tree
  • Generate and upkeep project specific documentation and conform to company quality and safety procedures.
  • A strong operator service focus consistent with company values.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with all operator personnel, including clients, subcontractors including suppliers, fabricators and other third party services.
  • A strong foundation in management, negotiation and leadership capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international specifications, appropriate industry codes and standards (IADC, API,)
  • Computer literate (proficient with Microsoft Office products).
  • Fully understands the statutory requirements of Well Control and Well Intervention.

REPORT: Drilling Superintendent / Offshore Drilling Supervisor

LIMIT OF AUTHORITY: 

  • Empowered to immediately stop any work activities and practices that pose an unacceptable risk to personnel
    health and safety as well as the environment across the range of company operations onshore/offshore.
  • Empowered to immediately stop any work activities and practices that pose an unacceptable risk to Company
    Equipment.
  • Ensures all serious safety breaches and quality non-conformances onshore/offshore are to be reported to the
    Drilling Superintendent/Offshore Drilling Supervisor.

ONSHORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with Tree manufacturer and monitor Tree manufacturing process, witness key activities and tests.
  • Assists with and attends third party vendor SIT/EFAT on completion of subsea manufactured equipment in country of manufacture. 
  • Informs the Drilling Superintendent of any issues, non-conformances immediately while on location there and ensures the third-party vendor addresses any issue/non-conformance accordingly.
  • Evaluate SIT/EFAT procedures. File all information on Daewoo database.
  • Coordinate ROV contractor involvement in SIT/EFAT.
  • Assists with the mobilization/demobilization of all third-party vendor subsea purchased/rental equipment from
    country of manufacture.
  • On completion of project ensures that the entire operator owned subsea tree and intervention equipment/tooling is maintained and stored according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Defines, procures and manages all interface equipment and processes required to run subsea trees/completions with the drilling contractor and third-party contractors.
  • Ensure that all third-party vendors meet their original scope of supply, on time and on budget and monitors this regularly by maintaining a good working relationship with each vendor. 
  • Informs the Drilling Superintendent immediately of any scope of supply changes or delays.
  • Liaise with and review third party contractor ROV equipment and tooling to ensure it meets the operator requirements for subsea tree/completion intervention.
  • Review, update and distribute third party contractor operational procedure documents and ensure that all projects related documents/records are completed in full, with signatures, and filed.
  • Confirm ROV tooling requirements.
  • Evaluate and confirm control system- Tree integration test procedure.
  • Compose Well head guide base installation/removal procedure.
  • Compose Tree Installation/recovery procedure including Risk Assessments.
  • Compose SenTree & installation procedure and confirm with Sr. Completion Engineer
  • Confirm Tubing hanger Installation Procedure including Risk Assessments.
  • Compose Tubing hanger Recovery Procedure including Risk Assessments.
  • Compose ITC Installation Procedure including Risk Assessments.
  • Compose ITC Recovery Procedure including Risk assessment.
  • Evaluate Spares Parts requirements.
  • Evaluate Rig BOP interface (Tree BOP Clashes).
  • Evaluate Rig BOP and Sentree 7 stack up.
  • Assist with EDPHOT space out.

OFFSHORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise all offshore subsea completion staff and ensure that they work safely and to company/contractor safe working practices/procedures, mentor/train less experienced third-party contractor personnel.
  • Ensures that all daily/weekly reports are completed accurately and are assessed against actual planned operational activity.
  • Assess and monitors all NPT/Lessons Learnt to improve/rectify any operational issues on future subsea completions, to ensure safe and efficient well planning/operations.
  • Ensures that all the relevant subsea completion handover documentation is completed and signed off accordingly, prior to handing the well over to the operator/contractor Hook up and Commissioning department.
  • Report hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment, incidents and injuries immediately to the Drilling Supervisor /Drilling Superintendent. 
  • Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment according to procedures and contribute to onshore/offshore meetings/inspections in order to improve safety in the workplace.
