Key Role:

  • Develops operational procedures and solutions and identifies associated equipment and 3rd party services as required to execute the Detailed Drilling Programmed for all wells to be drilled
  • Provides technical support at an operational level for day to day well engineering activities as required by the Drilling Superintendent (DSI);
  • Integrates between PET onshore and offshore regarding forthcoming well operational procedures and requirements.
  • Works with the DSVs, HSE Advisor and DSI in preparing and developing appropriate risk Assessments
  • Reviews key well engineering operations documentation;
  • Ensures implementation of contracting strategies


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides Operational Support to Rig operations and helps Integrate the activities between the 2 teams
  • Assists the DSI and Senior Drilling Engineer with the planning, design and construction of wells,
  • Assisting the DSI with post-well audits to identify improvements in performance;
  • Ensures that projects operate within the criteria contained in the Well Management System, consulting with the DSI where deficiencies are identified;
  • Works with DSI in all technical and HSE aspects of well engineering operations when required


Experience and/or Qualifications:

  • More than 15 years drilling experience. Experience must be with similar well engineering and construction.
  • More than 5 years as a Senior Engineer or drilling/completions supervisor under guidance of a Drilling and Completions Manager. 
  • Extensive experience in horizontal drilling, extended reach drilling in shallow overburden with weak rocks, deep water & shallow water drilling, geosteering. 
  • Alternate experience may be accepted by Company Executive Drilling and Completions.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Management of HSE Risk Management Incident Causal Analysis Contract Management
  • Well Control Certificate (IWCF) for floating operations
