PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • More than 3 years experience in Offshore Deck Operations as Deck Foreman or Deck Supervisor on an Offshore Platform.
  • Qualified Helicopter Deck Assistant Valid Offshore Crane Operations (OCO) training and Certification to Stage 3 for dynamic lifting to and from supply vessels.
  • Adequacy in English language both verbal and written.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Motivate and Manage the Deck Crew & onboard scaffolders or Rope access technicians.
  • Adhere to and closely Follow transport regulations, both national and international for Sea and Air transport for all goods especially any hazardous goods or waste materials.
  • Coordinate movement of marine vessels operating within the 500 meter exclusion zone when approaching the facility for lifting operations (offload and backload), in accordance with instruction from the Services Supervisor.
  • Ensures safe rigging, slinging and crane operations including cargo loading/offloading, personnel basket transfers and assistance to Services Supervisor or Well Services Supervisors as appropriate.
  • Liaise closely with Scaffolding or Rope access teams to ensure support as required.
  • Organize the careful segregation of all facility waste, i.e. organic and non organic, hazardous & non hazardous and ensure all Waste is safely stored onboard until backloaded.
  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly crane checks and routines (including rope greasing) are completed and that the appropriate check lists are updated & uploaded to CMMS by liaising with Services and Maintenance Supervisors as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the lifting & rigging re-certification program is maintained and that only inspected equipment is used.
  • Ensure the safe & efficient transfers of hoses for bulk fluids loading, to and from the supply vessels.
  • Ensure that all deck work is conducted in a safe manner, utilizing all safety equipment & PPE necessary to complete the specific work.
  • Carry out Tool Box Talks and Step-back 5x5 reviews with deck crew as required.
  • Contribute to 'complex lift' planning, reviews and safe operations.
  • Know & Understand your role within 'Emergency Response Teams' when allocated. 
  • Understand and comply with the Company ISSOW PTW System and Procedures relevant to Emergencies, use and management of Lifting equipment and Crane Operations & Maintenance.
  • Maintain logs books and records pertaining to operation of facility cranes.


DUTIES

  • Report to Services Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor daily on all planned logistics activities for Platform and crane maintenance and status.
  • Direct the deck crew and liaise with contractor teams for daily operations and requirements.
  • Conduct all pre-use, daily, weekly and monthly crane checks, always ensuring that the cranes are ready in all respects for safe operations.
  • Safety operate the facility cranes in accordance with manufacturers instructions and best Offshore Crane Operators practices, always within the limitations of the crane and associated lifting accessories.
  • Conduct front line maintenance checks of the crane and report to the Maintenance Supervisor, all work done and all findings requiring trade assistance.
  • Liaise with Production Supervisor for materials movements or support requests.
  • Liaise with Discipline Supervisors for materials movements and back loading preparation etc.
  • Liaise with Camp Boss for provisions supply, storage and movements.
  • Work to instruction from Services Supervisor regarding fabric maintenance works, deck works, materials movements, crane operations and trade assistance requirements.
  • Liaise with discipline supervisors as required to assist any ongoing rigging or material handling requirements and assistance.
  • Control the rigging loft and portable lifting equipment issue as required, under direction of the Services Supervisor.
  • Maintain the rigging equipment container and ensure that rigging equipment is issued, used and returned correctly.
  • Oversee the change out of rigging equipment and load testing of pad eyes etc. as per the mechanical handling program.
  • Liaise with Scaffolding team to assist with materials movements.
  • Monitor and control the work being carried out by the deck crew.
  • Feedback information / history as required into the CMMS for Deck Crew works, via Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assume your role as defined in the ('Emergency Response Team') in an emergency situation & in emergency exercises / drills.
