Background

Join a major US-based health company as a Junior DevOps Engineer in a 100% remote role. You'll handle code deployments to staging, prepare production deployments, and communicate weekly plans to the team. With multiple integrations across E-commerce, ERP, and payment systems, you'll also tackle smaller development tasks like styling changes and error fixes. This role is perfect for those looking to grow in DevOps while contributing to a critical industry.

Why You Might Want This Opportunity:

  • You're skilled in managing code deployments and want to take ownership of the deployment process.
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative environment where clear communication and well-documented processes are valued.
  • You're looking to work on both DevOps and small development tasks, expanding your skills without the need for certifications.
  • You prefer a role that balances deployment management with hands-on development work.

What Were Looking For:

  • Strong experience with Git and version control practices.
  • Basic understanding of Magento2 (M2) development. No certifications are necessary.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for managing deployment plans and updates.
  • Problem-solving skills for identifying and fixing minor issues.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a DevOps role or similar position.

What You'll Do:

  • Deployment Management:
    • Manage the deployment of code to staging environments.
    • Prepare deployment plans for production (only preparation, not the actual deployment).
    • Write clear deployment plans and communicate them to the team via email, detailing what will be deployed each week.
  • Support Development Tasks:
    • Work on smaller Magento2 (M2) tasks when not handling deployments.
    • Perform basic styling changes and updates as needed.
    • Investigate and resolve minor issues identified in error logs.
  • Collaborate with Team Members:
    • Work closely with developers to ensure smooth and coordinated deployments.
    • Maintain clear communication with team members to keep everyone informed and aligned.

This is a 100% remote position for developers based in the Philippines, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
