Job Description

Compositors work closely with Lead Compositors and Comp Supervisors to composite the numerous elements that complete visual effects shots, including live-action, 2D, and 3D elements.

Responsibilities                                                                                                                     

  • Should understand, analyze and evaluate the comp needs based on VFX Briefs.

  • Retime of plates to match with Reference Edits in case of requirements.

  • Should be able to handle simple to complex green/blue screen comps.

  • Should be aware of different keying methodologies, spill suppression, and edge blending.

  • Integrating 2D elements like fire, smoke, snow, bullet hits, muzzle flashes, blood, etc into the live-action plate as per high-end visual effects film standards.

  • Knowledge of Deep Compositing pipeline would be great.

  • Excellent knowledge of CC and Grading.

  • Photorealistic comp of 3D(multiple) render passes into live action plates.

  • Working in collaboration with the Compositing Supervisor and Lead Compositor to evaluate the creative and technical approach to assigned shots.

  • Should be aware of different techniques like 2d Tracking, Camera Tracking, 3D Projections, Color Correction, Black Levels Matching, Planar Tracking, Spline and Grid Warps, Nuke Relighting, and Grain Management.

  • Establishing the look of Key Shots in the sequences.

  • Script organization and Self QC the work.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in live-action compositing.

  • In-depth working knowledge and production experience with Nuke.

  • Experience in live-action CG Creature comp would be an added advantage

  • A strong eye for detail, composition, color, and lighting.

  • Knowledge of Photography and Practical Lighting is good to have.

  • experience in BG Prep and Roto would be an added advantage.
